Projects & Tasks

Assigning tasks to team members

Tasks break projects into actionable pieces and let you delegate work to your team.

Creating Tasks. Inside a project, go to the Tasks tab and click 'Add Task.' Give it a clear title, description, priority (Low, Medium, High, Urgent), and due date.

Assigning. Select a team member to assign the task to. They'll be able to see their assigned tasks when they log in. Only assign tasks to people who have the skills and availability to complete them.

Task Statuses. Tasks flow through four statuses: To Do → In Progress → Completed → Blocked. Team members can update their own task statuses as they work.

Blocked Tasks. If a task can't proceed — waiting on materials, permits, inspections, etc. — mark it as Blocked. This makes blockers visible so you can address them before they delay the project.

Best Practice: Keep tasks specific and actionable. 'Install kitchen cabinets' is better than 'Kitchen work.' Clear tasks are easier to estimate, assign, and track.
